Stop Banning Shit.

I am guilty of drinking a can of Diet Coke about once or maybe twice a week nowadays.  I am in no means an offender or a supporter of Coke and its obesity-encouraging products.  In fact, from a health perspective, I am actually perfectly open to this idea of restricting the size of sodas sold –except I have this one little hang-up over of censorship and stomping over personal choice/rights.  So I’ll make this simple…

If you…

 

ban this…

 

then what will stop you from banning this…

or this…

or even this…

 

Sometimes the government has the best of intentions and, in this case, Bloomberg is absolutely on the right page, but I urge him to find a better way.  The simple fact that this little ban has so many stipulations and targeted details already diminishes the point.  I don’t even mind if you charge a $3 tax on large soda.

I’m highly sensitive over banning things that are solely a matter of personal choice (do not affect the outcomes of others).  Let’s not forget, there are some other things that people thought were harmless to ban…
